Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Launched; Is It The Pro Version?

Xiaomi has unveiled the much-awaited Mi Notebook Air Laptop on Dec 23, 2016. The Notebook comes with preloaded Windows 10 home edition. Xiaomi has launched in collaboration with China Mobiles. Two models have been launched: the 12.5-inch model and the 13.3-inch model. Both models come with telecom operator network support without sim cards plus 4 GB of free 4G data per month.

The intentions were clear: it wanted to present its users a cheaper alternative to the popular Apple MacBook Air.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 12.5" Specifications

The first model is a 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G that retains its full-HD display resolution, Intel Core M3 processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It offers 128GB SSD (SATA) that is expandable via a second SSD slot. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, AKG dual speakers and Dolby Digital surround sound support. It is 12.9mm thick at its thinnest and weighs in at 1.07kg. It also has an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port.

The 13.3-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G comes with the sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processor. Other specifications include a Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU with 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD. Just like the 12.5 inch model, a second SSD slot on the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G can be used for expansion. Other connectivity ports and audio options are the same as the 12.5-inch model. It weighs 1.28kg and is 14.8mm thick. It comes with a 170-degree wide viewing angle with a 5.71 mm ultra thin screen.

The laptop has been priced at $677 for the 12.5-inch version while the bigger 13.3-inch version has a price of $1,007. Another interesting feature of the Mi Notebook Air 4G laptops is that they come with an SSD card slot that can be used for expanding the memory.
