Nokia Lumia 620 Hits New Markets

Nokia announced the entry-level Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphone in December 2012 and now the handset is making its way to more markets. The WP8-powered smartphone is now heading to Sweden.

Nokia has announced that the Lumia 620 will be launched in Sweden and the handset will be available from stores beginning Thursday, March 21. The Lumia 620 will be available in Sweden in black, yellow and lime green, although availability will vary between retailers and operators. The Lumia 620 is expected to be priced at 2500 SEK ($390).

The Lumia 620 has gained popularity as a WP8 smartphone with basic features, and is meant for customers looking to experience the WP8 operating system at an affordable price. The Lumia 620 includes decent features in its category. A 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, an Adreno 305 GPU and 512MB of RAM powers the smartphone.

The handset sports a 3.8-inch ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 246 pixels per inch (ppi). The Lumia 620 also has 8GB of internal memory with the option to expand to a further 64GB using a microSD card.

The handset is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 0.3-megapixel VGA front-facing camera. A 1300 mAh battery fuels the smartphones, which offers support for 9.9 hours of talk time and 330 hours of standby time on 3G.

The Lumia handset is sleek in design and measures 4.54 x 2.41 x 0.43 inches and weighs 4.48 ounces. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and also Near Field Communication (NFC).

The Lumia 620 is currently available in Canada, Mexico, Europe and other parts of the world; however, Nokia has not released the handset in the U.S.

As the smartphone runs on WP8 you may not find all apps from iOS or Android platforms, which makes it difficult for some buyers who are looking to install specific apps on their handsets.

The Lumia 620 is an impressive phone and has all the features required to compete with entry-level Android smartphones.
