In a report from Cars, it was mentioned that nothing changes in the aspect of engine and transmission options. The 3.7-liter V6 with a six-speed manual transmission and optional six-speed automatic gearbox is still the powertrain for the base convertible and coupe models. The EcoBoost and GT will also still have the same 2.3-liter four-cylinder and 5.0-liter V8 engines respectively that have similar gearbox options as the base trim.

Apparently, the updates in the 2017 Ford Mustang are just a few minor tweaks in the aesthetic aspect and some changes in the functionality. As reported, one of the most notable changes in the 2017 Ford Mustang is the turn signals that are situated in the hood vents of the car that have been there since the late 60s. The functionality improvement includes an independent rear suspension to improve handling along with a boost in fuel economy.

Reports state that the price bumps for the 2017 Ford Mustang is spread across its tree powertrain options. It was mentioned that the 3.6-liter V6 is now priced at $25,815. The EcoBoost 2.3-liter has a price tag of $26,820 while the top trim is now $33,820. Compared to the price of the previous model, the new model has increased by a $770, $275 and $525 for respectively as reported.
