Nintendo's favorite plumber has been receiving a whole new dose of popularity with the release of the Super Mario Run app on the iOS, and some eager fans of Mario have been wondering when they can get the game on their Android devices. Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima has offered an update on the matter and says that Android users will bet getting Super Mario Run sometime next year.
According to Gadgets 360, Kimishima has also stated that the company plans on releasing two to three smartphone games in the year 2017 alone. Super Mario Run is Nintendo's first foray into mobile gaming, and with the app hitting 40 million downloads in four days, the company could be wise in exploring more into this branch of games.
Game Fragger also suggests that Nintendo may even be releasing more than just two games per year down the line. With the success of this year's Pokemon Go and Super Mario Run, there's a lot more titles that the company can bring into the smartphone game to further cement itself as the gaming giant that it is. Maybe someday, fans will be looking at games like The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Mario Kart on their mobile devices.
Nintendo looks to be treading a lot of new ground recently. Aside from Super Mario Run, the company is also looking to release their new console, the Nintendo Switch, which fuses handheld and console gaming into one device. The Nintendo Switch will let players dock their device into a television and play games at home, and it will also let them take the device outside and play it on the go.
A lot of Android users haven't been able to join in on the fun with Super Mario Run, but they can rest assured they will be able to get in on it when Nintendo releases the game for Android sometime next year.
