Street Fighter V: Worst Year For Of The Capcom Brand, Pros Wants To Stick With The Old Ones

If you are an avid fan of Street Fighter and its video game, you must admit that this year was not that good. There were some instances when Capcom was about to give up and let the year past but somehow, they were able to redeem themselves.

Street Fighter V was considered as a flagship and a fresh breath of air prior to its release by video games review site. However, things got a little darker when some of the players reported that they were somehow “harassed” by the massive video game company. To this day, things are not yet clear on what had happened on the incident but recent reports say it got a little chippy.

Why Some Of The Players Hate Street Fighter V

Over the years, Street Fighter showed us why they are considered as one of the founding fathers of fighting game. Their attention to detail and their outstanding gameplay sets as a barometer to other fighting games such as Tekken and Mortal Kombat. This year was a different story. It seems that the developers of the game were more lax and carefree on what the outcome of the game will be. It started with the initial launch of the game. The game is incomplete, there were many bugs, arcade mode isn’t available, and a respected site said the game was crap.

Street Fighter V introduced an innovative way to play the game. They’ve established what they call Capcom Pro Tour. It sure was exciting but it’s very complicated as most of the gamers state. Players have to deal with a lot of issues starting from joining and qualifying in the tournament. The requirements to be part of the Capcom Pro Tour is very vague, tour is very long, the bracket is messed up. To summarize the players ordeal during the CPT was, it was very exhausting.

Why The Devotees Of The Game Stayed Despite Countless Issues

I read an article about players getting tired of Japanese players winning the Capcom Cup day in and day out. Well, that changed as players from United States face off in this years finals. For some who haven’t heard about this guy, you should check him out. Ricki Ortiz is a seasoned veteran, and when it comes to Street Fighter games he's on the same level as the great Momochi and the ever ready Kazunoko. When Ortiz and American Nuckle Du faced off, it provided lift to some of the gamers. It showed that even the masters from Japan can be defeated.

For the first time in Street Fighter history, they were able to receive a helping hand from a network giant. ESPN teamed up with EVO to showcase Street Fighter V all over the world. Some were able to watch the finals through television, while others was able to view it through streaming sites. Not only they were able to broadcast the game but the cup was also held at Mandalay Bay Events Center. A place where renowned events happen.
