‘Pokemon Sun And Moon’ Latest News: Next Global Event Unveiled; Bigger Rewards Awaits Players?

The first Global Event initiated by Pokemon Sun and Moon earlier this month was not as successful as the organizers wanted it to be. Players of the game were requested by the game developers to capture 100,000 million Pokemon. However, the global catch total was only around 16.5 million. Now, Nintendo is holding another event with lower standards.

This Time, The Goal Is Only 1 Million Pokemon

But Nintendo and Pokemon Sun and Moon are not discouraged by these dismal results. Now, another Global Event is underway and this time, the goal is for players around the world to capture only 1 million creatures. This would be a very easy thing to accomplish since the total creatures caught last time was more than 16 million. However, there are still no details regarding the rewards if the goal is achieved.

But there's a catch. And this catch will probably make the seemingly easy quest a bit difficult to achieve. This time, the players are required to use the Island Scan feature of Pokemon Sun and Moon in capturing the creatures. If not, their catch, even if it goes by the hundreds, will not be counted. Therefore, they need to use this scan feature in finding the hidden Pokemon.

Players Must Earn 100 Points To Use Island Scan Feature

Players also need to understand that they won't be able to use the Island Scan tool if they haven't earned 100 points. They can earn this quantity by scanning QR codes that they will find within the Pokemon Sun and Moon game. With this scan feature, players can also find Pokemon outside the boundaries of the Alola region.

The Island Scan feature is a new addition to Pokemon Sun and Moon. Since the goal is only to capture 1 million Pokemon, players are more than likely to achieve the total count, and maybe even more. This current Global Event started on Dec. 27, 2016 and will last until Jan. 9, 2017. Nintendo and Pokemon Sun and Moon are encouraging players around the world to join in this second Global Event.
