God of War 4 made history back at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) earlier this year. Sony was even so clever not to spoil any details until the said event took place. And now, fans have been wondering about the current status of the game. Well, fortunately, the tech giant has given out some interesting details. One of this is the fact that the devs have already reached a new milestone for the forthcoming title.
In the official Twitter account of director Cory Barlog, he revealed the true status of the game's progress. He announced that he and his team have just recently completed the title's first playthrough. In a sense, it means that the game's "rough draft" version has already existed. But of course, since it's yet to be final, changes can happen.
Unfortunately, Barlog has remained mum about the release date of God of War 4. Besides, he already iterated in the past that the team won't be making such announcements until a final version can be unleashed. Nonetheless, it's okay to think that more details about the upcoming title can be expected in the next few months.
The fourth title in the critically acclaimed franchise will take a completely different route. Here, players will see a different Kratos -- both literally and metaphorically. Well, the fact that he already has a son is a living proof to that. Aside from the aesthetics, the game will also introduce a different mechanic both on the gameplay and main storyline.
The first ever demo of God of War 4 was unveiled at E3, showcasing a much older Kratos. In the footage, he can be seen along with his son. The two tries to discover the labyrinth that the new setting introduces. It takes place in what appears to be a Norse-themed environment. Going back to the demos, the main reason behind Sony's decision not to do so is the fact that these will require more development time. It seems the tech giant is set to release the game in full version sooner or later.
