UK Sales Update: Infinite Warfare Takes Top Spot This Christmas

The Call of Duty franchise is thriving well in the UK market since this is already the third within the last three years that a COD game became a bestseller one week prior to Christmas. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is reported to be the bestselling video game on the third week of December. It can be recalled that during 2014 and 2015, Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare had the same achievement.

Despite the fact that Infinite Warfare did not sell the same number of copies as what Black Ops 3 achieved last year, it was still able to prove the popularity of the Call of Duty franchise. This makes an interesting mark for what Sledgehammer Games might be preparing for the year 2017, according to Attack of the FanBoy.

FIFA 17 makes it to the second spot, which is also a big franchise in the UK. For three consecutive weeks, FIFA 17 is tagged as the second bestselling video game within the UK market. Battlefield 1 and Watch Dogs 2 made it to the next spots. Watch Dogs 2 did not gain a lot of followers upon its launch, but now that it has made it to the charts, Ubisoft might have a positive response to this.

Watch Dogs 2 sequel is apparently relying on positive comments from its patrons since many gamers have responded negatively to the first game. Grand Theft Auto V remains to be a powerful game, thus Rockstar do not have immediate plans on releasing Grand Theft Auto sooner. Grand Theft Auto V has already reached the number five slot on the charts, thus beating other recently released game titles.

These are the top game titles order from top to bottom respectively; Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, FIFA 17, Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, Grand Theft Auto V, Mafia III, Steep, Final Fantasy XV, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Forza Horizon 3.
