Pokemon GO Trade Rumor: Trading System May Involve Use Of Public Transportation

The Pokemon GO trading system is rumored to involve the use of public of transportation. There are speculations that players will send and receive Pokemon via public busses, trains and airports.

Pokemon GO TOS On Trade System

The game's Term of Services (TOS) clearly indicates that players are granted the right to trade Pokemon with other players. Even Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke has virtually confirmed that a Pokemon GO trade system will be set up. That declaration was made around three months ago but the developer has yet to show any detail about it. In contrast, a Pokemon GO based game called Storimod has a viable trading feature set in place. There is no doubt that a Pokemon Go trade system is in the works but it's taking too long. Hopefully, Niantic will make it a priority early next year.

Pokemon GO Patent Hints

Meanwhile, a site called Patent Yogi has uncovered a patent filed by John Hanke and associates about a "system of transporting virtual objects in a reality game." The application was filed on 2012 and the original assignee was Google. The patent seems to indicate that it has something to with the Pokemon GO trade system. The developer envisions a virtual world where trades will be based on public transportation existing in the real world.

Basically, players who entered into a trade will "escort" their respective Pokemon in certain public transportation hubs. Those who lived in the same city will go their respective bus or train stops to send off and received their Pokemon trade. If the trading parties live in different countries they will need to go to the airport to conduct the trade. The idea in theory is great but may prove difficult to players, especially if they are minors. It should be noted though that it's all speculations for now. Niantic may yet provide a more convenient way of trading Pokemon.
