Nokia may have stepped back from the smartphone world for quite some time after it has signed its non-competition agreement with Microsoft. Take note that Microsoft took over Nokia's Lumia brand to create smartphones of its own. With that, Nokia had to refrain from releasing its own smartphones until its agreement with Microsoft comes to an end. Lucky for them, that time is now and the N3310 maker is back on track in the smartphone world.
HMD Global Taking Over Nokia
HMD Global is now the licensed owner of the Nokia brand and so, the company will be the one in charge of the next Nokia smartphones every fan is waiting. As per HMD Global's site, the company casually introduces themselves with a short statement saying, "Hi. We're HMD. The home of Nokia phones." It's worth noting though that even though HMD Global isn't exactly as familiar-sounding as Nokia fans would like it to be, this company is run by pioneer Nokia heads. This means that your next Nokia phones are being taken care of by people who know exactly what Nokia phones are about.
Nokia Smartphones For 2017
As per GSM Arena, there could be at least four Nokia devices coming in next year. This should include the long-rumored Nokia D1C. It was said that these Nokia phones could be shown off February at the Mobile World Congress event. As for the new Nokia devices, they could come in various display sizes, from 5-inch to5.7-inchh displays.
It's worth noting that these devices may not exactly be flagship devices. This means that fans can expect midrange phones instead of premium ones. Nevertheless, these could be competitive midrange phones that are pretty much worth your time and money, because after all, it's from mighty Nokia. Also, starting small is a pretty clever and wise thing to do but hopefully, the company can eventually reign the mobile world like it did before.
