Iran Government Blocks 'Clash Of Clans' For Allegedly Promoting Violence And Tribal War

After banning Pokemon GO, the Iranian government took their attention to another mobile game, Clash of Clans. The government committee seeks to block Supercell's hit game in the country for allegedly encouraging violence and tribal war. This action has been taken after receiving a report from the psychologists.

Iran To Ban Clash Of Clans

It has been reported that a law to completely ban Clash of Clans has been pushed by the Justice's Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content. The game was described as "clear example of violence through education and the promotion of tribal war." Psychologists also reported Clash of Clans as a game with negative effect to family relationship if teenagers got hooked.

How Clash Of Clans Encourages Violence?

Clash of Clans is a game created by a Finish game developing company, Supercell. It has become a mobile sensation over the world, having 100 million players everyday. Clash of Clans mechanics involve building villages or clans and training troops to protect and attack other players' colonies.

The game Clash of Clans was launched in August 2012. It is currently the top grossing app on Google Play Store and third on Apple's App Store. According to a research firm called SuperData, Clash of Clans earned a combined sales of $210 million in Novermeber together with Clash Royale, another game by Supercell.

Iran Also Banned Pokemon GO

Interestingly, this is not the first time Iran has banned a popular mobile game. Iran became the first country to ban the massive hit game Pokemon GO in August. The action was delivered after the reports of "security concerns."

Despite having these games blocked in the country, some players are still able to access the game by using VPN or Virtual Private Network. Some people said that local players had suggested to impose an age limit as to who can play the game. But for now, all are affected with this restriction.
