2016 Smartphones: Waterproof Devices For The Active Users

If you're in the market for a good smartphone, one of the things you should look for if you are always on-the-go is the waterproof feature. Whether you're always on the beach or simply prone to spill coffee on your phone, waterproof phones come in handy. There may not be a lot of options for this in the past but that has changed so much this year. Apparently, quite a number of waterproof smartphones have been introduced this 2016. Here are some.

Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge

The S7 and S7 Edge are Samsung's 2016 flagship phones. They were both released March and they both come with waterproof bodies. These two phones differ in size as the S7 comes with a 5.1-inch display and the S7 Edge comes with a 5.7-inch display. If you like curved screens, the S7 Edge is your best bet.

Aside from being waterproof, these phones also boast of their premium specs. They are powered by the fast Snapdragon 820 processor and they both come with 4 GB RAM. They also both come with 12 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras.

Apple iPhone 7 And 7 Plus

If you're pro-iOS, you're going to love the latest iPhones. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are both waterproof. Meaning, there will no longer be a second of panic when your phone gets submerged in water. No more Googling and no more rice-remedy needed as well.

Between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, only the iPhone 7 Plus come with the dual camera system. If this matters to you, you're going to have to pick the 7 Plus. As per GSM Arena's specs sheet, the 7 Plus also got a bigger screen, bigger RAM, and bigger battery. But when it comes to internal power, there really is no big difference between the two iPhones.

Sony Xperia XZ

Released October 2016, the Sony Xperia XZ is yet another camera phone from Sony. It comes with a 23 MP rear camera and a 13 MP front camera. Being a waterproof device, this should be one of your best bets for beaching and swimming. Not only can the Xperia XZ last being in the water, it's also one of the best camera phones right now. This phone is pretty much a good phone overall as it also comes with a powerful processor and sufficient memory.

Sony Xperia X Performance

The Sony Xperia X Performance is practically the same as the Xperia XZ with just some minor differences. This phone was announced on February and released June. Aside from being waterproof, this phone is also powered by the powerful Snapdragon 820 and comes with a 23 MP/13 MP camera combo.

As a whole, there are a bunch of waterproof smartphones to choose from. However, these phones also differ in their features and specs. With that said, it's also important to assess which phones will be most useful for you. If you're an iOS fan, your only options are the 2016 iPhones. If you're an Android user, you'll love the premium feels of the Samsung S7 devices. Needless to say, if 23 MP cameras attract you, the Sony Xperia smartphones are your best bets.
