Though Konami had canceled Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills project, indie game studio Aza Games moved forward and produced their own Silent Hill-inspired horror game, Silent Manor. The game looks absolutely horrifying, and any interested gamers are free to try out the demo.
According to Game Tyrant, Silent Manor is a third-person horror game and players get to take control of a character named James Goodwin. Just like Silent Hill, the gamer will try to go through the game and find out just exactly what unfortunate event led Goodwin to be stuck in the haunted manor. Benjamin Azaxor of Aza Games has this to say about Silent Manor: "A lot of people have already tried the demo. Now, download the demo and try for yourself, if you dare."
The game has also just been recently updated and it features a whole new area of a huge dark forest. A video has also been released of what to expect from the update and it looks like players will have to run around being chased by some psychopath with a chainsaw - a trope no horror game can live without.
A lot of fans were disappointed that Konami had decided to cancel its Silent Hills project. The most disappointed was probably "Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro as the holidays had him greeting everyone a "Merry Christmas" and saying "F*** Konami."
As of now, del Toro and Kojima are working on another project called Death Stranding, which will be Kojima's first project outside of Konami. Kojima is probably best known for his work on the Metal Gear SolidI franchise. This new project will have the involvement of "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus as well as "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's" Mads Mikkelsen.
Silent Hills may be years away from being released, but at least fans can try out some horror this holiday season with Silent Manor. Try out the demo here.
