Pokemon GO Update: New Event Released, Starter Spawn Rates Increased

In the past few weeks, Niantic has introduced a lot of cool stuff to Pokemon GO. One being the most recent one is the Christmas event. But hey, the fun doesn't stop there. A new event has arrived, and this time it's for the New Year. Among the things it offers is a significant spawn increase for all the starter Pokemon as well as their respective evolution chain.

According to Otakukart, the newly-arrived Pokemon GO event will last until January 8. And until that day, all spawn rates for the different starter Pokemon will be increased. This is definitely a huge treat to players who've yet to fully evolve any of these creatures.

The starter Pokemon GO monsters include the likes of Charmander and Bulbasaur, among others. So, with the case of this new event, finding them will be a walk in the park. And, as mentioned above, the new gig already includes the aforesaid Pokemon's evolution chain. For instance, Charmander's Charmeleon and Charizard will be part of this.

When Pokemon GO just arrived, all the starter Pokemon easily became a favorite to most fans. People over social media and forum sites were sharing their experience and/or journey. However, in the long run, these creatures were barely noticed or used. That's because they quickly became irrelevant and relatively weak. Unless of course if players get to acquire their evolutions.

The new Pokemon GO event doesn't necessarily give these starter Pokemon a boost. Nonetheless, it should give players enough candies to either evolve or level up. So, in a sense, it's still a blessing in disguise. It's not up to the players on how they'll wish to maximize the event. Besides, Niantic has given them enough window to do so.

What are your thoughts on the new Pokemon GO event? Were you glad that Niantic increased the spawn rates of the starter Pokemon? Any expectations you have for this new event? Be sure to let us know at the comment section below!
