Pokemon GO Update: Niantic Introduces Limited-Time Holiday Items

Just recently, Niantic made it known to the public that two Christmas events will be coming to Pokemon GO. The first one being started on Dec. 25, giving players increased chances of hatching Gen 2 creatures from eggs. The second one is slated to commence come Dec. 30, which will increase the spawn rates of starters such as Bulbasaur and Charmander. But along the existence of the first event, the studio unleashed what seems to be item packs with limited time. All of these, in one way or another, are offered with huge discounts.

According to PhoneArena, the latest update (which is deemed to be the last one for this year) brings the good number of new item packs to the game. The only catch, as mentioned above, is that these will be offered at a limited time only. So, for players, it's best to take advantage of these items during the holidays.

The aforementioned Pokemon GO holiday packs can be acquired through the in-game shop. Their discounted rates apparently started back in Christmas day. It'll end in the afternoon of December 30, which is just in time for the second event. These come in three different types -- namely, Special, Great and Ultra.

The packs contain items ranging from Incubators to Great Balls to even Ultra Balls. Niantic also announced that on the afternoon of Dec. 30, Bronze, Silver and Gold Boxes will also be released. These will only be made available up to the afternoon of Jan. 3. In these boxes, players can acquire the likes of Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules, Incense and Great Balls, among others.

It's worth noting that the specific contents of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Boxes in Pokemon GO remain unofficial. The studio, nonetheless, is expected to make an official announcement as the day nears. Until then, it's best to enjoy the first three packs.
