The Xbox has been the top-selling console in the U.S. since July 2016, thanks to the release of the Xbox One S. But according to market research firm NPD, Sony’s PlayStation 4 beat Xbox One sales in the U.S. during November. Between the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S, who won as the best console for 2016?
The PlayStation 4 Pro
The PlayStation 4 Pro is a console that has been tuned for the current year. As described by TechRadar, PS4 Pro is the first 4K HDR Sony console that has a larger 1TB hard drive and 30 plus pro mode games at launch. It is hands down shinier, faster and prettier than last year’s model of Sony's PlayStation.
PS4 Pro, has spectacular graphics, enhanced gameplay, one unified gaming community and an extraordinary entertainment. It was launched on November 10, 2016, which is cost $399 and will complement the standard PS4 and sit alongside it.
The Xbox One S
The Microsoft 's Xbox One S is the only game console to play 4K Blu-rays. According to Trusted Reviews, the Xbox One S is a subtle upgrade to the existing Xbox One, rather than a proper successor. It doesn’t offer the big graphical bump of the PS4 Pro, but it is considered as a 4K game upscaling with improved, grippy controller.
With the use of the Xbox One S, you can watch 4K Blu-ray movies and stream 4K content on Netflix and Amazon Video. You can get the Xbox One S 500GB Console - Battlefield 1 for only $250.00 and you can discover the world at war through an adventure-filled campaign or in epic multiplayer battles with up to 64 players on Xbox Live.
PS4 Pro vs Xbox One S
Both Microsoft and Sony did everything in their own power and connections to win over consumers during the year by rolling out new hardware and high-budget exclusives. According to the International Business Times (IBT), November was a big month for Sony since it launched the PS4 Pro. The PS4 Slim revision launched in September, which was followed by the PlayStation VR in October. At that time, neither the PS4 Slim or PlayStation VR beat the Xbox One sales in the U.S.
Sony recently announced it's reducing the price of the PS4. Starting Dec. 11, Sony will sell the Uncharted 4 PS4 Slim bundle for only $250 in the U.S. That's the same price that the PS4 cost on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
"We first brought you this deal during Black Friday weekend, and it was incredibly successful for PS4 sales so we decided to bring it back this month," Sony said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Still, according to IBT, Microsoft Xbox has been the top-selling console in the U.S. since July not until November when Sony launched its PlayStation 4 Pro. The company also saw major engagement among Xbox One owners on its Xbox Live as fans took advantage of the new games and offers.
“In fact, the total players online on Sunday, Nov. 27 was up 40 percent compared to last year,” said Xbox marketing VP Mike Nichols. "We have seen strong momentum for Xbox One since announcing the new Xbox One S at E3 in June. That momentum continued in November as gaming consoles were once again among the most sought-after products to buy over Black Friday weekend," Nichols added.
As reviewed by Game Revolution, PS4 Pro is able to deliver higher-resolution content and gives a more impressive hardware innovation. And because of this, from a battle of game consoles, PlayStation 4 is the winner as the Best Console For 2016 as it also gives a more exclusive deal for the users.
