2014 Cadillac CTS Images Leak Ahead Of New York Auto Show

We're pretty excited about the New York Auto Show being held this week, and while the event is just a few days away, new information continues to surface, including some recent image leaks of the 2014 Cadillac CTS.

While we already knew from GM that the company was going to show off its new CTS at the year's big auto show, we hadn't yet seen any images of the vehicle. Though no full image of the CTS is shown in the leaked images, you can get a pretty good idea of what the car looks like.

On the outside, the pictures show the vehicle having a characteristic front grill, along with what look to be LED daytime lights, HID headlights and LED fog lights. The Cadillac crest adorns the back, which also features LED tail lights and a small deck lid spoiler. It looks like Cadillac went all out for the inside, which includes real wood trim, plenty of leather, Alcantara and contrasting color stitching.

The images can be found on "GM Inside News," who claim they first appeared on a Cadillac Flickr page. It's not an official account, so we don't know where the owner of the account found the images.

Under the hood, Cadillac is making a number of engines available, including the all-new twin-turbo V-6 engine. We discussed Cadillac's new GM-manufactured engine in a recent article and it alone is a good reason to get excited about the new CTS. According to reports, the engine produces 420 hp and 430 pound-foot of torque, going from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It's the first twin-turbo engine for Cadillac and the first to go with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Expect top speed to reach about 170 mph.

Upon being asked if the images are official, Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told Edmunds that the question was, "a legitimate one, but not one that I care to answer."

Expect Cadillac's new CTS to go on sale this fall. Other high profile vehicles you can plan to see at the New York Auto Show are the Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Highlander and Range Rover Sport.
