2017 started quite right in the tech market. Lenovo has once again introduced a 2 in 1 device that can stand out in a market reigned by Microsoft. For those who doesn't know, Lenovo has a very wide array of convertibles that range from entry-level to premium. Microsoft only has the Surface Pro and the Surface Book and while these two are quite some of the best in the market specs-wise, they aren't always cheaply priced. Furthermore, Microsoft failed to refresh its Surface Pro line last 2016. Luckily, though, Lenovo launched the Miix 720 which is a pretty solid competitor to the Surface Pro series.
Lenovo Miix 720 Specs
As per CNET, the Miix 720 uses a 7th-gen Core i7 processor. It also has a 2880 x 1920 pixel resolution on its display. The Miix 720 also boasts of its Thunderbolt 3 port and its infrared camera. The device is also configurable to up to 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage.
According to Phone Arena's report, the Miix 720 has a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 port on top of the Thunderbolt 3. As for the device's battery life, Lenovo says that the Miix 720 can last up to 8 hours of power. There could also be an Active Pen 2 stylus accessory considering the stylus slot on the housing. Additionally, the Lenovo Miix 720 also supports Windows Hello.
Lenovo Miix 720 Availability
The Lenovo Miix 720 will be made available this coming April. Unlike Microsoft's Surface Pro, Lenovo includes the backlit keyboard with the Miix for a starting price of just $999. Needless to say, the Lenovo Miix 720 is undeniably one of the most tempting 2 in 1 devices in the market. If Microsoft is able to release the Surface Pro 5 this March just like what rumors have said, then it would be interesting to see how these two very similar devices will compete with each other.
