After months of rumors and speculation, Asus on Wednesday officially revealed both the ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The Asus ZenFone 3 is said to have dual cameras and an excellent battery life.
Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Has Dual Cameras
According to Indian Express, the main highlight of the ZenFone 3 Zoom is a dual-camera setup on the device itself. It also features a dual-camera system capable of high degrees of optical zoom. The camera feature of the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is really one of the best among the existing smartphones.
ZenFone 3 Zoom comprises a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and 25mm wide-angle lens. The secondary camera is 12-megapixel with a 56mm lens that handles macro shots as close as 3.94 inches from the focus object. The gear is capable of up to 2.3x optical zoom and a new shooting mode called Portrait similar to the Apple iPhone 7s’s “bokeh” mode. Meaning, the backgrounds of photos are made blurry to give more focus on the main object.
A manual shooting mode, as reported by Digital Trends, exposes most of the Asus ZenFone’s toggles to dauntless photographers. The settings such as white balance, exposure values, focus, ISO and shutter speed are all adjustable.
A Full Manual mode allows the user of the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom to override the phone’s automatic camera selection and chose from options either the 25mm, the f/1.7 lens of the main camera or the 56mm lens of the zoom camera. And in terms of autofocus, it is drastically improved on the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom too, thanks to the new solution that the company calls TriTech+.
Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Has A Beastly Battery
The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom's battery is 5,000mAh cell that has “one of the highest capacities of any smartphone,” as Asus contends. The largest in a smartphone of the Zoom’s thinness and lightness. And it features a unique reverse-charging capability that automatically juices plugged-in devices.
The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom will be available February 2017, according to a representative from the company. Pricing and configurations will be announced later this year.
