It looks like HTC Tiara will be the Taiwan-based company's next Window 8 phone and will arrive in May, according to leaked specs. As we reported yesterday, Microsoft is planning a Windows Phone 8 update as a part of General Distribution Release 2 (GDR2), and it will come to Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 phones as well as the Tiara.
Specs for the Tiara surfaced at Unwired View recently and it looks like the Tiara will be a mid-range phone similar to HTC One SV, HTC's recently released Android handset.
If the leaked specs are to be believed, Tiara will be among the first devices to run Windows Phone 8 GDR2, which will be the second update to the platform since its launch last fall, according to Unwired View. The Tiara will have a different design than the recently revealed HTC One running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Tiara will come with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 of WVGA resolution and 217ppi, 1 GB up to 8 GB memory. The Tiara specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.6-megapixel front camera. The HTC One SV, by comparison, has a 5-megapixel camera, but nearly the same features and specs otherwise, according to Unwired View.
As we reported Tuesday, HTC is prepping two new Android Handsets, Desire P and Desire Q, for China and Taiwan markets. Both phones are also mid-range devices with a 4.3-inch screen. The specs of both phones appeared on Unwired View along with what could be print advertising for both phones. Desire P will retail for $365 while Desire Q is expected to cost around $265.
In the U.S., HTC One is still on its way despite delays due to parts shortages. The HTC Tiara is expected to be available in mid-May, although the company has not made an official announcement about its price or availability. Unwired View suggests the phone may be in the HTC's Windows 8 Phone range between the 8S and 8X.
