Lenovo introduced its two new laptops in the biggest tech event of all times, the CES 2017, which is Lenovo Legion dedicated only to gaming PC's. It has stepped into the VR world and has launched its first VR headset along with the laptops that will be working with Microsoft's Windows Holographic Program.
Hands On With the Legion Y720
Legion Y720 is all set to launch in April 2017 and the major specs has already been unveiled at CES 2017. It retains the look of the Lenovo's Ideapad Y-series but is more dedicated for the gaming laptops which makes it a little more fun. The base model comes up with a 15.6-inch display and an intel i7 77300NQ processor, with memory up to 16GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage capacity and contains NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. The basic price would be about $1,399, which would be the price of the base model containing all the above features.
Major Specifications
Users can upgrade it to a 4K display if they need more pixels although the price for this is still unknown. There is an in-built Xbox One controller such that one can get rid of the dongle. Also Y720 is the first PC with Dolby Atmosphere sound. If one can spend some extra cash on it, an option to have a multicolor backlighting for those excellent key is also available.
There would be a trio of USB 3.0 ports, a thunderbolt/USB Type-C port and a 4-cell battery that has been known to last about five hours with just a single charge. The most important part of this new laptop is that it is media library where one can make use of the VR headset to upscale movies and games.
Some Unclear Facts
Some of the facts are still unclear after the launch of the laptop like how one would import the media files into the entertainment hub. Also, questions have been raised as to how the user would be able to purchase new content from within the Hub. These should be answered in a few days time.
