The world will witness a once in a lifetime astronomical phenomena this August. However, some Christians groups and theorists are predicting the world might come to an end during the solar eclipse 2017, spreading fear in netizens. Popular Christian website, Unsealed has previously denied claims of the said prophecy.
The solar eclipse on Aug. 21 will be spanning 12 US states. It would be the first total solar eclipse to travel coast to coast for about a century. Meanwhile, some countries in Western Europe, such as UK, Ireland, France and Spain will be experiencing a partial solar eclipse.
With this, warnings and prophecies from Christian groups are spreading like wildfire in the internet social media. Various reports suggest that the original prophecies came from Christian websites such as Unsealed. The website links the two eclipses in 2017 and 2024 saying it might be a signal to the judgement day.
It says that the solar eclipse 2017 crosses right through the middle of the US. Meanwhile, another solar eclipse in April 8, 2028 also crosses the middle of the US but in opposite line which will form an X.
"As the tribulation signals God's final judgment upon the Gentile nations and His refocusing on Israel, could this great 'X' over the world's most powerful and prosperous Gentile nation be a signal of His impending judgment? Time will tell," Unsealed said.
Other Christian websites added more with speculations that the solar eclipse will bring the second coming of Christ. On the other hand, conspiracy theorists even pointed out passages from the bible, highlighting a verse which describes a woman clothed in the sun, with the moon at her feet, reported Daily Star. It added that her unborn children will be hunted by a Satanic seven-headed dragon.
Unsealed previously stated their claims saying that they are not predicting the solar eclipse 2017 will bring the end of the world. "We are not predicting nor will ever predict the 'end of the world," the group said. It added they are speculating the end of the world will be coming soon. They mentioned the solar eclipse but only as a sign of the coming judgement but not the end of the world.
