Famous Italian super car manufacturer, Ferrari, has just built a sports car that is a breed of new and old technology and design. The car named Ferrari SP 275 RW Competizione is one of a kind and would probably cost more than a Ferrari F12TDF. The SP 275 RW Competizione would also take its looks from the classic Ferrari 275 GTB.
Engine, Transmission And Electronics Would Come Straight From A Ferrari F12TDF
The Ferrari F12TDF is a track-ready sports car that produces 770 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque coming from its 6.3liter V12 engine. The F12TDF can reach zero to 60 miles in just 2.4 seconds and 124 miles per hour in just 7.9 seconds. Only 799 units were manufactured for the limited edition F12TDF.
The SP 275 RW Competizione Pays Tribute To The Classics
The exclusive Ferrari SP 275 RW Competizione is a mix of other Ferrari cars. The chassis is based off a Ferrari F12berllinetta. The 6.3liter V12 engine and the seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission would come from the F12TDF. The new vehicle design gets its inspiration from the classic 1960's 275 GT that won the Grand Tourer category in the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hour Race. The yellow finish of the SP 275 RW Competizione is a tribute to the Ecurie Francorchamps team.
Ferrari Gives Exclusivity A Class Of Its Own
The electronics would also be coming from the Ferrari F12TDF. The front-end styling would be similar but smoother to that of an F12TDF. More louvres would be featured, similar to the design of the 275 GT. A swooping decklid nolder and an aluminum fuel filler cap would also be featured on the outside. Four vents would be positioned behind the front wheels and the rear end would feature additional vents, making its looks close to the 275 GTB. The SP 275 RD Competizione would also have a unique front fascia and 20-inch 10-spoke aluminum wheels complete the car's looks.
Combining Future Technology With Old School Design
In addition, the Ferrari SP 275 RW Competizione will be equipped with Ferrari's Virtual Short Wheelbase. It is a system designed by Ferrari that enables four-wheel drive steering to enhance low-speed turn ins. The steering wheel manettino dials would be able to control six different settings such as the F1-Trac, E-Diff, ESC, SCM and F1-CD.
The SP 275 RW Competizione Could Be Half-Million Pricier Than The Ferrari F12TDF
The price for the Ferrari SP 275 RW Competizione is still unknown. It would definitely be priced at a more expensive amount than the Ferrari F12TDF that starts at $490,000 dollars. Price for the limited edition SP 275 RW Competizione is rumored to be half-million dollars more than the F12TDF's already expensive price tag. Pininfarina, an Italian car design firm, created the vehicle's one of a kind design. Pinifarina is famous for designing vehicles for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, General Motors, Fiat, Lancia and Maserati. The company also has a long history of designing trains, buses and trams since the 1980's.
