Jeremy Stieglitz, the co-founder of ARK: Survival Evolved has hinted in an interview that it might be part of the Project Scorpio lineup and will have full VR support.
In an interview with the Daily Express, Stieglitz hinted that it's possible for Microsoft's Xbox Project Scorpio to have a full virtual reality support. He stated that the console is powerful enough to have a full VR support.
He also added that it is just a matter of Studio Wildcard getting their hands on Project Scorpio in order for them to see what they can do with it. Stieglitz is saying that even if Project Scorpio has the power and capability to have full VR support, Microsoft hasn't given them any dev kit yet that would allow them to test a VR version of ARK: Survival Evolved.
From what can be gathered in Stieglitz's interview is that Studio Wildcard will support Project Scorpio. More so, if Microsoft decides to give it a VR support, ARK Park, which is their VR experience is just around the corner for Project Scorpio.
With that in mind, another question comes up whether Microsoft will develop its own headset or will use what's already existing in the market. If indeed, there is a possibility that they will partner with Oculus Rift since they have already some sort of agreement with the virtual headset. Therefore, it is most likely that Xbox Project Scorpio will be marketed as the only VR console that is compatible with the Oculus Rift. At present, Oculus Rift headsets are bundled with Xbox controllers.
Aside from ARK VR, Stieglitz says that it is also possible that the game will expand its VR capabilities so that it could be added in the future expansions and updates that will happen in the game. So far, ARK: Survival Evolved has already exciting elements and it will be much more exciting to see what it can do in the future.
