Wagon lovers have something new to look forward to as the Volvo V90 2018 makes its global debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show that will be taking place a few days from now. Here's what to expect from the all new wagon from Volvo.
The Volvo V90 2018 Powertrain
According to a report from Motor Authority, there will only be two powertrains available for the Volvo V90 and those are the T5 and T6 units. The T5 unit is a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine that is capable of 240 horsepower as reported. The T6 unit on the other hand is also a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine but it can crank out 302 horsepower. Accordingly, the T5 will only be offered in front wheel drive (FWD) configuration while the T6 will only be available in all-wheel drive (AWD) setting. Both powertrains will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission as reported.
Volvo V90 2018: A Wagoner's Dream
It appears that the Volvo V90 2018 is a dream come true for everyone that simply loves wagons because not only will it be the most luxurious wagon ever, it can also be personalized according to buyer preferences. "The V90 is a fantastic vehicle for the true wagon enthusiast. As we now introduce the most luxurious wagon ever, we choose to do so giving our customers a range of personalized customer order production alternatives like the Volvo online concierge and Overseas Deliver. This way we provide the fullest range of options to wagon lovers," said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Car U.S.A in a report from Auto Evolution.
Volvo V90 2018: Special Orders Only
Reports state that the price for the Volvo V90 is not yet available. In addition, it appears that the Volvo V90 will not be making it to any showrooms as it will only be available via Online Concierge and Overseas Delivery. This makes sense because personalization will no longer be possible if the wagons are already in showrooms. In the meantime, interested buyers can check out the Volvo V90 2018 at the Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 9, 2017.
