Samsung Notebook 9: Specs And Features Rundown

At CES 2017, Samsung introduced the year's Notebook 9 model, which the company claims is the lightest of its size. But despite its light exterior, the South Korean tech giant has definitely not skimped out in terms of specifications. The laptop still has power underneath its unassuming aesthetic.

As The Verge notes, the device has a 13-inch screen and weighs in at just 1.8 pounds or 820 grams. And while some companies have sacrificed connectivity for less weight, Samsung did not such thing with the Notebook 9. The device has a full sized HDMI port, two USB A ports and a USB C port as well. The unit allows breathing room for the future without completely disregarding what is still standard with the public.

Looking at the unit, it is evident that the ports are almost as thick as the entire base of the Notebook 9. Moreover, the minimized side bezels - as the publication notes - gives the device a futuristic feel. It also has a 180-degree hinge, which allows the unit to lay fully flat. And while this feature may not be used to that extent often, it does provide users with much more options than other competitors.

According to Tech Radar, the Samsung Notebook 9 has a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U CPU and an Intel HD Graphic 520 ship. It runs smoothly on 8GB of RAM and has a built-in storage of 256GB. Its camera is 720p HD and the unit has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. All in all, the unit measures roughly 13.64 x 9.33 x 0.57 inches.

The Samsung Note 7, which was only available for demo at CES, are currently available for pre-order and will be released into the market soon enough. The 13-inch variant costs US$999, while the 15-inch variant retails for about US$1,199. The larger option adds a discrete GPU, the Nvidia GTX 940MX, above and beyond the standard variant.
