Diablo 3 is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise by adding a limited timed retro dungeon. Here's a guide on how to get the Butcher pet from this latest content.
Diablo 3 Retro Dungeon Guide
Players must make sure to download the 20th anniversary content known as The Darkening of Tristam or simply Update 2.4.3. This contains the 16-level retro dungeon that includes the sound effects, monsters and items. It also includes the Butcher from the original installment. Here, the player can make this boss as his pet for the duration of the event.
Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 players should also have the Reaper of Souls expansion downloaded as well. This means Xbox 360 and PS3 players are out of luck. Afterwards, players can now start the 16-level dungeon campaign with a new and fresh character in Adventure mode. You also to need finished Diablo 3 at least once before you can use the mode.
The 16-level Dungeon quest is not that hard compared to the next requirement. Players would need to clear all the levels without turning off the game. The retro dungeon can actually take up around an hour or less according to some game experts. If the game is turned off, you had to start the dungeon quest all over again. Don't bother with monsters outside the dungeon since you won't get any XP from them. Concentrate on killing the monsters inside of you want to unlock the Butcher pet.
Diablo Anniversary Now a Yearly Event
Game developer Blizzard has announced earlier that the Diablo will celebrate its yearly anniversary every January. Diablo 3 is the latest installment of the series but it's already around five years old. Fans of the game though wished Blizzard can release an upcoming Diablo 4. This is probably the best anniversary gift that fans could ever wish for.
