Samsung Confirms Galaxy S4 Mini, Will Launch Soon After Galaxy S4

We finally have concrete evidence that Samsung will launch a Galaxy S4 Mini smartphone in the near future. The device has been rumored since Samsung began selling a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini after that smartphone's launch, and it has seen success in miniaturizing its flagship smartphones.

Apple has also been rumored to be building an iPhone mini for years; those rumors began soon after the release of the original iPhone in 2007, but the company has yet to offer such a device, yet.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to feature a 4.3-inch 256ppi (pixels per inch) 540 x 960 Super AMOLED display, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 1.6GHz Exynos 5210 processor based on ARM's big.LITTLE technology, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, microSD slot with support for up to 32GB cards, 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch-focus and face detection and front-facing camera.

Bloomberg wrote up an in-depth look at how Samsung Became the World's No.1 Smartphone Maker. The article is very detailed at six pages, but it's also the first time Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S4 Mini does exist and that it will be going on sale soon. Samsung told Bloomberg:

"The Galaxy S 4 doesn't come out until late April. It's fast, has a big, bright screen, and will probably be another huge hit for Samsung, as will the S 4 mini that will go on sale soon after."

The Galaxy S4 Mini is designed for people who prefer a smartphone with a smaller screen and price, while also offering some of the hardware design inspiration of the Galaxy S4, along with some of its features. Do you think it's wise for Samsung to begin selling the Galaxy S4 Mini so soon after the Galaxy S4 release? Let us know in the comments.
