Subaru promised that the 2017 Impreza would be built on a new Global Platform that would improve its performance in major way and the automaker made good on its promise. However, it seems that performance and some facelift are not the only aspects improved as its infotainment system has also apparently been upgraded.
Subaru Impreza 2017: The Eight New Apps
Subaru has integrated eight new applications to the Starlink infotainment system of the 2017 Impreza. Subaru's new infotainment applications are the eBird, Yelp, Best Parking, Glympse, Magellan Navi, Right Track, Wcities' Eventseeker and Tweddle Quick Reference Guide.
Subaru Impreza 2017: How The New Apps Work
Reports state that the Magellan helps users avoid information that are outdated. The Best Parking informs users about the parking rates in 105 cities and 115 airports across the U.S. both for short and long term periods. The e-Bird app is basically for those that are in to birdwatching and the Eventseeker pretty much speaks for itself. On the other hand, the Yelp app helps the user locate business locations and read reviews about them. The Glympse app lets people that the user knows find the current location and the RightTrack helps to get discounts in insurance.
Subaru Impreza 2017: What Else Is There?
Reports state that the Subaru Impreza 2017 also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Given this fact, users basically have the freedom to choose which infotainment interface suits their preference the most. Accordingly, all these new apps will also be available in the 2016 and 2017 models of the Subaru BRZ.
Subaru Impreza 2017: Are The Apps Really Useful?
While some may be skeptical as to whether the apps are relevant or not, others will surely have great use for them. The way the applications function for the users, consumers are bound to find them handy sooner or later down the road. In any case, Subaru would not integrate the new apps into its infotainment system if it didn't think it would help its loyal customers.
