A Review To Apple iPhone's Legacy On Its 10 Years

January 9, 2017, is a long milestone day in the technology world because of the 10th anniversary of Apple's very own iPhone.

It has been a full decade following Steve Jobs who took the stage and introduced Apple's iPhone, one of the greatest smartphone existing since then until then.

A Review To Apple iPhone's Legacy On Its 10 Years

Apple iPhone 1st gen is the first ever iPhone made. It was a GSM phone and established design patterns, such as a button placement that have persisted throughout all releases and a screen size maintained for the next four iterations.

Apple's second iPhone got a slightly tweaked design and that 3G connectivity was presented. But the most important thing about it in retrospect was its software and the way it was sold to people. The iPhone OS 2.0 was added to the App Store for both the 3G and the first-gen Apple iPhone.

Apple's third iPhone was its first "S" model, it was named as the Apple iPhone 3GS. It has an improved hardware compared to the Apple iPhone 3G. It was introduced on June 8, 2009, at the WWDC 2009 which took place at the Moscone Center, San Francisco.

Next is the Apple iPhone 4. The iPhone 3GS was more-or-less a faster version of the original iPhone, but the iPhone 4 has a dramatic redesign. According to Arstechnica, the RAM doubled once again from 256MB to 512MB, and the phone once again bumped up its CPU and GPU speed.

The next iPhone is the 4S where Siri was brought. Siri is the voice assistant that continues to drive the Apple Watch and Apple TV until today. It was the last iPhone to include the rapidly aging 30-pin iPod port and the last to use the original iPhone's 3.5-inch screen size.

Next is the iPhone 5, which introduced the Lightning port that is now used for Apple's desktop peripherals, the Apple TV's remote, the iPad, and in plenty of other made-for-iOS accessories like game controllers and external batteries. The iPhone 5 also happens to be the oldest phone that can still run Apple's current operating system.

The Apple iPhone 5S still introduced plenty of big and new things: Apple's first product with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, first to ship with the freshly redesigned iOS 7, first to use a 64-bit ARMv8 processor and first to come in a gold finish.

Next to that is the iPhone 5C. It was pretty much just an iPhone 5 sold in a colorful plastic case instead of a metal one.

They were followed by the larger iPhone 6, with models featuring 4.7 and 5.5-inch displays. The iPhone 6S was introduced the following year, which featured hardware upgrades and support for pressure-sensitive touch inputs.

In early March of 2016, Apple replaced the two-and-a-half-year-old iPhone 5S with the iPhone SE. This played a very big part in Apple's revenue decline in 2016.

Ang now, the newest Apple smartphones are the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. These 2 great phones which add water resistance, improved system and graphics performance, a new rear dual-camera setup on the Plus model, and new color options, while removing the 3.5 mm headphone jack found on previous phones is really a great choose!
