Best Buy first began the store within a store concept with Apple a few years ago. It gave Apple a section of its store that featured all of Apple's most popular products in a mini store that resembled an Apple retail store. The move wasn't just about promoting Apple's products on a wooden table similar to Apple's own in Best Buy stores. Best Buy also trains employees that work in the store within a store on all of the product features so consumers easily understand it. It's been a great success for Apple and Best Buy. The retail giant is now going to give Samsung residency in the same neighborhood as its biggest rival.
According to a new report, Best Buy plans on removing two aisles near its mobile department in high-traffic stores to give Samsung its own store within a store. Each section "will be dressed in large Samsung signage and offer custom demo stations for many of Samsung's products." Best Buy will give employees special training on how to demonstrate Samsung specific features. That will certainly come in handy since Samsung loves to add as many features as humanly possible to devices like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung even agreed back in January, saying "You have hundreds of capabilities in the device that sometimes the user never becomes aware of even though they buy the product. We have so much innovation and technology built into devices that it can be overwhelming."
The Samsung store within a store will initially conceived to highlight the Galaxy S4 but will also showcase other Samsung mobile devices, like its Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab products. Best Buy is expected to launch more Samsung store within a store sites later this year, and eventually will become a permanent resident in all Best Buy retail stores.
