Samsung is believed to be readying a new tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus, which will go up against the impending iPad 5 and Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Rumors regarding the tablet have been flying thick and fast, and now images of the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Plus have surfaced online.
SamMobile received two images of the purported Galaxy Tab 3 Plus from a tipster who has disclosed that Samsung will name the tablet Samsung Galaxy S Tab because of the success of its Galaxy S series phone line-up. The images of the supposed tablet bear a strong resemblance to the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet, which was launched earlier in February at the MWC 2013. However, the placement of the home button seems different.
"Is this the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus? We aren't sure but we received 2 pictures of it. The Tablet looks a lot like the Galaxy Note 8.0. According to the tipper, Samsung will name the Galaxy Tab 3: 'Samsung Galaxy S Tab.' The person said due to the success of the Galaxy S phone line, we will be applying the same knowledge and marketing strategies to our high-end tablets," notes SamMobile.
According to SamMobile, the model numbers for the "Galaxy S Tab" are GT-P8200, GT-P8210 and GT-P8220, which is in keeping with previous rumors.
Earlier in March, rumors pointed to the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus sporting a 10.1-inch or 11.6-inch Super AMOLED FHD screen. Rumors also hinted at the tablet housing the Exynos 5 octa-core processor.
The specifications of the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus aka Galaxy S Tab are:

- PLS LCD or Super AMOLED 'PENTILE' screen
- Samsung Exynos 5410 Octa-core CPU

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab Plus at the IFA 2013 in September. Whether these images are authentic or fake is anybody's guess. As SamMobile says, "for now take this information with a pinch of salt."
