Nintendo is now preparing for the big Nintendo Switch event tomorrow. Meanwhile, retail chains are expecting that gamers will flock their stores in order to purchase the new console. Even if Nintendo Switch will not be arriving until March, some of the big retailers like Target and Walmart are preparing their placeholder information to accommodate the new Nintendo console.
Twitter user Wario64 reported that Target has already produced numerous placeholder entries in their system for the Nintendo Switch and its launch titles. If these placeholder entries are indeed true, the Nintendo Switch will be sold for a price of $299 and it will include 15 launch titles.
If the price is true, it is just an appropriate amount since most of gamers and analysts are expecting this price range for the Nintendo Switch as compared to its Walmart price of $399. Walmart's price tag leaked earlier. One Redittor said that he is a Walmart employee and he shared the photo of Walmart's price tag for the pre-order cost of the Nintendo Switch that is said to be around $400.
It is not however surprising that the retail chains are already getting prepared for the release of this major consumer gadget. The social media's growth within the last decade has made it difficult for video game hardware and software's prices to be kept confidential. This is due to the leaks that were released by physical and online retail stores, as reported by Game Rant.
It is already interesting how different the prices were. Walmart says that they are selling the console for $399, while Target has it at only $299. There were analysts in Japan who talked about the Nintendo Switch not costing more than $250.
