‘Final Fantasy XV' Collaboration With 'Final Fantasy XIV' Can Happen Anytime Soon

Avid fans of the “Final Fantasy” franchise are asking for more even when Square Enix has already rolled out new updates for “Final Fantasy XIV”. One of the anticipated updates is a collaboration between the said online video game and the new “Final Fantasy XV”. As a matter of fact, director Naoki Yoshida has just revealed some details that fans would be really excited about it.

Naoki Yoshida, who goes by the popular nickname Yoshi-P, sat down for an interview with 4Gamer and revealed his thoughts on a collaboration between “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn” and “Final Fantasy XV”. Yoshida is the director of the said fourteenth main installment in the “Final Fantasy” series. The said video game is a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game that has ventured on various collaborations.

Collaboration With "Final Fantasy XIV" And "Final Fantasy XV" Might Be In The Works

As soon as Yoshida was asked about a future collaboration between the two recent “Final Fantasy” games, he pointed out that he need not tell about it as it could just literally happen anytime. He further said that he could throw in outfits from the “Final Fantasy XV’ like Noctis’s into the said online game if he wanted to. But he then admitted that he wanted the future collaboration to be more than just highlighting costumes.

He also acknowledged that with the “Final Fantasy XV” just being released and still being the talk of the town, it was a great time to make a joint project with “Final Fantasy XIV” but he was not thinking about it yet as of now. Just because he is not thinking of doing it now does not mean he is not up for it. Yoshida explained that the story of “Final Fantasy XV” had to be completely in place before a successful collaboration can happen.

He pointed out that a collaboration between the two video games did not just mean featuring certain attributes but the creators of “Final Fantasy XIV” also must first deeply understand the scenarios, the characters, and the other patterns of “Final Fantasy XV” to truly incorporate the latter into a joint project. It seems players need to put their trust into Yoshida’s decision especially when he saved “Final Fantasy XIV” from a disastrous launch, rebranding it and turning it into a better version.

"Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" Recent Collaboration Events

Fans of the “Final Fantasy” franchise have been asking for collaborations especially since “Final Fantasy XIV” has already featured Lightning before in the game. Lightning is the pink-haired main character in the “Final Fantasy XIII” video game series. The said character was featured in “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn” through a special promotional event called the Lightning Strikes quest.

Aside from Lightning, “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn” recently announced a collaboration with the popular “Garo” series, featuring new armors, gears, and quests. They have also made joint projects with “Phantasy Star Online 2” and “Yo-Kai Watch” before.

Fans Hope For Fun Collaboration Events For "Final Fantasy XV"

With a collaboration between the two mentioned Square Enix games eventually happening, fans are looking forward to more updates soon that they’ll surely appreciate. Others are hoping that new quests, as well as classes will be introduced in the “FFXIV” to relate to the activities in “FFXV”, which are fishing, cooking, and taking photos. Some are anticipating that “FFXIV” features will also be appearing in the promised future “FFXV” updates that can include new recipes, outfits, and maybe some surprises in the upcoming Moogle Chocobo Carnival event.
