Despite the disaster of last year's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung is already moving full speed ahead with the sequel to its infamous exploding phablet. New reports have indicated that Samsung has already decided not to ditch the Galaxy Note branding, despite its declining reputation.
Galaxy Note Series and its reputation
The Galaxy Note 7 had proved to be extremely popular before its exploding issues became rampant. Indeed, this had been the trend for the Galaxy Note range over the last few years, with the brand being held in high esteem by consumers and critics alike.
This has prompted Samsung to retain the Galaxy Note brand. With that, it now seems a like the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 will indeed be hitting stores this year. With that, here are three things to look forward to the Note 8
USB Type-C
USB Type-C has been a niche technology relatively recently, and right now it is considered a near certainty for the next generation of the Galaxy Note range. This feature was already included in the Galaxy Note 7.
Despite what happened to the Note 7, analysts firmly believe that there will be no particular difficulties in including USB Type-C on the Galaxy Note 8, and this would be a logical move considering the recent product releases from Samsung.
Dual-edge curved screen
Samsung has already manufactured mobile devices that featured curved screens, and the Galaxy Note 7 was pretty much notable for its curved display. But this only had curved features on the right side of the device, which is why analysts are suggesting that Samsung may be moving on from this design with the Galaxy Note 8.
According to rumors, the Note 8 will now be featuring an all-new dual-edge curved screen.
Iris scanner
Another feature that will be included in the Galaxy Note 7 for the first time is iris scanning in order to beef up security. This would mark the first time Samsung has incorporated such technology on one of their handsets.
