Nintendo Switch Launches March 3rd At The Price of $299.99

Nintendo Co Ltd on Friday priced its first hybrid home game console in about four years above market expectations, disappointing the investors and clouding its prospects of winning back the gamers who have shifted from consoles to smartphones.

“Nintendo Switch is a brand-new kind of home gaming system that offers a wide variety of play modes,” said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima. “We will introduce the world to new experiences made possible by the unique characteristics of the Nintendo Switch hardware and the Joy-Con.”

The Japanese firm said it will launch the Nintendo Switch on March 3. It is said to be priced at $299.99 in the United States, the same as Nintendo's current Wii U game console, whereas in Japan, it will cost about 20 percent over the predecessor at 29,980 yen.

Nintendo Switch Great Features

The Nintendo Switch will include the main console, the Joy-Con (Left) and Joy-Con (Right) controllers. It will also have the Joy-Con grip to which two Joy-Con are attached that is used as one controller. A set of Joy-Con wrist straps and a Nintendo Switch dock is also attached. These will hold the main console and connects it to a TV, an HDMI cable, and an AC adapter.

Also, according to Nintendo, 2 stylish versions of the Switch system will be released -- a version with a set of color gray Joy-Con, and a version with one color neon blue and one color neon red Joy-Con. Both versions of the Nintendo Switch will be the same price.

Nintendo Switch is a great invasion of home video game system. It not only connects to any TV at home but it also transforms into an on-the-go handheld game console with a 6.2-inch screen. For the first time, gamers can enjoy a full home console experience anytime and anywhere. The screen comprises capacitive multi-touch capabilities for all the compatible games.

The battery life of the Nintendo Switch can last for more than 6 hours, but will, of course, vary depending on the software and usage of the system. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be played for roughly three hours on a single charge. While away from home, Nintendo Switch can be charged by plugging the AC adapter into the console’s USB Type-C connector.
