Facebook will be holding its "Home On Android" event today to show off the Facebook phone, along with an Android-esque launcher called Facebook Home. Leaked photos of the Facebook smartphone show that the device will come in three color choices.
New pictures have leaked of the Facebook phone built by HTC. The smartphone will apparently be available in three color choices: red, white and blue. It's unclear if the pictures are a rendering of the Facebook phone or are actually the final design.
Android Community is reporting that it has been tipped that the Facebook phone has an overall design reminiscent of the iPhone and HTC One, but definitely not as high-end.
Facebook is getting even more serious about entering the mobile world; it will do so by launching the Facebook phone in a partnership with HTC. The Facebook phone is expected to feature a 4.3-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE radio (appears to be an AT&T-exclusive), 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.6-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and HTC Sense 4.5.
We've only got a few more hours to go until we see Mark Zuckerberg unveil the company's Facebook phone to the world. It's unclear if consumers will actually buy a smartphone centered around Facebook, but with so many Facebook members using the service, it might actually be a surprise hit. We'll also find out when other Android smartphones will get access to the new Facebook Home feature that will debut with the Facebook phone. Stay tuned.
