Mario Kart 8 will be making its comeback for Switch and this time it brings Deluxe on its title. As a result, the most anticipated gam is expected to bring updated contents including lots of new playable characters and an improved Battle Mode. However, Nintendo just announced and confirmed recently that the remixed Mario Kart will not add new racing tracks for the game's Racing mode.
According to the report from Nintendo Everything, Nintendo confirmed during the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017 a total of 48 race tracks to arrive on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. While this is a solid number for the gamers to try themselves in, it is also the same exact number as what is seen on the game's Wii U version.
Apparently, there are several players who expect a new racing track for the upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As a result, the composition of both new and retro race tracks might have been great encouragements for those players who already owned the Wii U version of the most popular kart racing franchise. With the recent confirmation, players should just redirect their attention to the new offerings if they wanted to repurchase Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As mentioned above, the game offers new playable characters and is said to run at 1080p on Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile, players are encouraged not to lose hope as it is expected that the new tracks will arrive through post-launch expansion packs, something that Nintendo has not discussed yet. In addition, Mario Kart 9's development has already started which would explain the lack of courses. However, it still remains a speculation as of the moment.
Overall, whatever the cause for the shortage of new race tracks, players are still expected to buy the upcoming Nintendo Switch during its official launch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is set to arrive on April 28, 2017 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
