Nokia 6's China-only Release May Actually Be A Smart Idea

During the latter part of last year, Nokia's name has once again made noise as the company's non-competition agreement with Microsoft comes to an end. Rumors have come out that about six Android Nokia devices will be entering the market in 2017, and even before the new calendar year has thoroughly sunk into people's mind, Nokia has introduced its first Android device for the year - the Nokia 6. This device is an amazing higher midrange phone. The only catch is that it is only launched in China.

Nokia 6 Pre-release Registrations

So far things are looking good for the Nokia 6 as its pre-release registrations reached 250000 in number during the first 24 hours. According to Phone Arena, the Nokia 6 is priced approximately $245 when converted to USD and so far, the Chinese market deems this phone a worthy buy. Take note that registering for the Nokia 6 doesn't only take filling up a form. Each interested buyer must pay $9 to register and this amount will be deducted from the buyers' final purchasing price. With that said, these registrations are legit and made by people who are serious about getting the Nokia 6.

A few more days after Nokia 6's unveiling, more registrations have been made. As per GSM Arena, more than 400000 registrations have been received by the new Android Nokia. It's clear that the Chinese market is head over heels with Nokia's latest smartphone. However, the question that remains is whether or not Nokia's decision to limit the release of the Nokia 6 to China is a good idea.

Nokia 6 China-only Launch Is A Well Thought Of Idea

The Nokia 6 may be the widely talked about phone as of now, however, Nokia might have made a good decision in limiting its release to China. As per GSM Arena's poll that asks whether or not people would get the Nokia 6 had it been launched globally, people who say yes only ranked second amongst the options. Almost half of the poll results consist of people who would wait for a flagship Nokia with a more powerful chipset.

Needless to say, it looks like Nokia, or HMD Global for that matter, has thought things through and made a good choice not to release the Nokia 6 internationally. Taking small steps in its comeback and studying each market's demands have clearly been a part of Nokia's re-entry into the smartphone market. It looks like the company knows the China has proved that midrange phones are popular and other countries have also proven their love for flagship devices. Hopefully, though, Nokia's flagship device, if there would indeed be one, would already hit the market in no time.
