The Dodge Durango 2014 has been unveiled with a few changes and details on features like mileage and release date.
The Dodge Durango 2014 features significant updates from the previous model. Stylistically, these include an updated front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, a lower fascia, a taller front bumper and a "floating" crosshair grille. The rear features LED "racetrack" tail lamps and a reformed rear fascia. The vehicle also features new wheels and comes in five trim levels: Citadel, Rallye, SXT, R/T and a new Limited model.
According to a company statement, Dodge wanted to give the Dodge Durango 2014 "an even more sinister look than the previous model."
Under the hood, the Dodge Durango 2014 comes with a choice between a 3.6-liter V6 engine at 290 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque or a 5.7-liter V8 engine at 360 hp and 390 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to Dodge, the Pentastar V6 will get 25 mpg on the highway. Other fuel economy numbers for the Dodge Durango 2014 have not been released.
Inside the Dodge Durango 2014, prospective owners have the option of purchasing Dodge's newest Uconnect infotainment system. The system comes with a number of features and can be accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other options include heated second-row seating, a heated steering wheel and a Blu-Ray player connected to two rear monitors.
The Dodge Durango 2014 will go on sale in the third quarter. Pricing has not been announced.
