The 2017 BMW 4-Series is scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva Auto Show that will be taking place in a couple of months. However, it appears that the automaker can no longer wait as BMW reveals the updated 4-Series ahead of its official debut. Here's what the new model brings.
2017 BMW 4-Series: Exterior And Interior Facelift
According to report, the 2017 BMW 4-Series has been facelifted in both exterior and interior aspects. The changes in the exterior involve a modification of its headlights into Bi-LED as the new standard. In addition, there is also an option for adaptive full-LED headlights with better illumination capability but buyers will have to pay extra for it. In the rear section, a reinterpretation of the L-shape has been made along with a new LED technology for its taillights as reported.
In the 2017 BMW 4-Series' interior, the technology features have been upgraded. Accordingly, a multifunctional instrument display has been added along with a digital display tacho-unit situated behind the steering. Reports state that this feature changes its appearance according to the active driving mode in addition to being able to display different kinds of information on it.
2017 BMW 4-Series: Power Upgrade
Autocar reported that a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol has been added to the lineup of the 2017 BMW 4-Series. This is capable of putting out 181 horsepower for the BMW 420i and 248 horsepower in the BMW 430i. Accordingly, a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder is will also be available for the BMW 440i and it will be capable of delivering 321 horsepower.
The good news does not end here, as three diesel engines will also be available. First is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 187 horsepower capability followed by 221 horsepower in the BMW 420d and BMW 425d respectively. The BMW 430d and 435 xDrive will receive a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with 254 and 309 horsepower output respectively.
2017 BMW 4-Series: Price And Availability
Reports state that the 2017 BMW 4-Series has a starting price of $41,950. The BMW 4-Series are expected to be delivered in the United Kingdom market in April. Delivery in the U.S market however, has not yet been confirmed but it is expected to be announced as at its official debut in March.
