There have been reports claiming that the different galaxies all over the universe might be dying down due to being stripped off of hydrogen gas. The global researchers, scientists and the like have now come up with answers to one of the greatest wonders of the world.
Thousands Of Galaxies Being Stripped Off Of Gas Due To Dark Matter; Leads To Its "Death"
There has been a study claiming that over 11,000 galaxies all over the universe are dying as they are being violently stripped off of gas, which is depriving them of the one material needed to create new stars. This phenomenon is named by the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research as ram-pressure, stripping gas from the galaxies which would lead to its death.
According to the head of the study being conducted, Tony Brown and a PhD candidate, galaxies are composed of dark matter which makes up about 27 percent of the entire universe while ordinary matter only makes up of five percent. The remaining percentage is told to be composed of dark energy. As explained, the galaxies tend to fall through these dark matter halos and remove their gas in a process, as previously named as ram-pressure stripping. This is caused by the extremely heated intergalactic plasma between the halos. This then causes the existing stars to cool off and then grow old, unable to be created of new ones due to the absence of gas.
Galaxies Unable To Make New Stars Disallows It From Being A Galaxy
Removing the ability of a galaxy to for stars removes the galaxy in its entirety and later turn it into something that is no longer alive. It has also been reported that the main process in which the galaxies run out of gas is known as strangulation, where gas to make stars is being consumed and the galaxy starves to death. This only adds to the millions of mysteries surrounding the universe, ones that can never be fully explained despite the numerous researches. Hence, there is no way to solve the problem of the dark matter stripping off the gas from different galaxies, and the one that we live in now is no exception.
