Despite the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S2 was launched two years ago, it remains a highly popular device, which is why Samsung keeps releasing software updates for the phone. This Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is being released gradually, so it may not be installable at the moment. It may also not yet have come to your region; however, all Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100P users will get the update eventually.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update provides a significant upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S2. Features include Project Butter, which allows for better overall performance, improved camera functions, Cloud services and a new lockscreen with customization options. Also included are Direct Call, Smart Stay, Pop-up Play, two Home screen modes, new Galaxy S3 widgets, an enhanced notification system and Google Now. The device also comes with the new Nature UX user interface, which is featured on the Galaxy S3.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update marks the biggest overhaul for the Samsung Galaxy S2 since 2011. We'll keep an eye out for additional updates to the Galaxy S2 as they arrive.
