Nokia launched the Lumia 720 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona in February this year. The smartphone is now available to pre-order in India via eBay.
The Windows Phone 8 (WP8) powered handset is meant for smartphone buyers looking to experience the WP8 operating system at an affordable price.
Nokia is expected to officially launch the Lumia 720 in India towards the end of April but the handset has already made an appearance and is up for pre-order on eBay at a price tag of Rs 16399 ($299 approximately). The Nokia online store (India) shows no hint of the availability or price of the Lumia 720.
The Lumia 720 sports a 4.3-inch IPC LCD display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 217 pixels per inch (ppi). A dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 processor clocked at 1GHz along with 512 MB of RAM powers the smartphone. The Lumia 720 includes 8GB of on-board space, with expandable memory of up to an 64GB.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-megapixel Carl Zeiss optics primary camera with autofocus and LED flash. The handset also includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Lumia 720 has a 2000mAh battery, which gives up to 520 hours of standby time and up to 13 hours 20 minutes of talk time on 3G.
The Lumia 720 has a very close resemblance to the Lumia 920 and both the smartphones are similar in size. The Lumia 720 measures 5.04 x 2.66 x 0.35 inches and the Lumia 920 is slightly larger at 5.13 x 2.79 x 0.42 inches. At 4.52 ounces, the Lumia 720 is lighter when compared to the 6.53 ounces of the Lumia 920, which makes the former more comfortable in the hand.
