Injustice 2 To Come With 9 DLC Characters

A new trailer for NetherRealm's Injustice 2 just dropped, and it revealed that the game will be available in three different packages when it's released on May. Players who shell out for the ultimate edition of Injustice 2 will be able to get their hands on a total of nine DLC fighters as well as different skins that render classic characters as a completely different ones.

According to Game Fragger, Injustice 2 will be released with a Standard Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition and an Ultimate Edition. The Standard Edition does not come with any listed extras, but pre-ordering the game will make DC baddie Darkseid a playable character. The Digital Deluxe Edition will come with three DLC characters and one "premier" skin for Supergirl that will turn her into Power Girl. What is cool about the premier skin is, aside from the new look, it also comes with a new voice and dialogue lines from Power Girl.

Dishing out for the Ultimate Edition, however, will get the player nine DLC characters as well as three different premier skins; those skins include the Power Girl skin for Supergirl as well as a Zoom skin for the Flash and a John Stewart skin for Green Lantern.

The identities of the nine DLC characters are still a mystery, but it seems to be a big number of characters for an exclusive edition of the game. Best guess are these characters are not from the DC roster, and can be one of the rumored characters being brought over from Mortal Kombat, "Watchmen" or "Spawn." Rumors have come out that the roster will have about 28 playable characters. Does that mean that the standard edition of the game will only come with 19?

Aside from characters and premier skins, Gear Shader packs are also available with the special editions. Digital Deluxe Edition gets the player only one pack - the Defender Shader pack. The Ultimate Edition comes with two, the Defender and the Destroyer Shader packs.

Injustice 2 is set for a release this coming May 16.
