When the name of Samsung comes up in the mobile industry it automatically draws our attention to the biggies: the likes of Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4 and more. But not all of us want a top-end smartphone, and keeping this in mind, Samsung keeps on bringing mid-segment smartphones as well; this time it's the Galaxy Win, which will be available in China as well as other markets.
Previously, the Galaxy Win was only part of rumors but now the Korean smartphone maker has officially confirmed the smartphone along with its specifications and features.
"Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leader in mobile technology and digital media, today announced the Samsung GALAXY Win, an intuitive new smartphone designed to balance the needs of the on-the-go user with massive processing power, multitasking capabilities, and a compact design for ultimate portability. As a unique and practical option for mobile users, the GALAXY Win is equipped to handle demanding tasks while still providing an effortless user experience with intuitive features including dual SIM support for a seamless work and life balance, a large display for optimal viewing, Easy Mode for simple access to most used functions, and many more," says the official press release.
At a glance, the Galaxy Win has a strong resemblance to the Galaxy S3; however, unlike the Galaxy S3 the Galaxy Win does not feature the same top-end specifications. The smartphone is made for the mid-segment market and has impressive features found in a handset in its category.
The Galaxy Win sports a 4.7-inch WVGA TFT LCD with 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 199 pixels per inch (ppi). A Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 8225Q processor clocked at 1.2GHz powers the handset. The device also includes a 5-megapixel snapper and 0.3-megapixel VGA front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Win has a 2000mAh battery and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The handset measures 5.25 x 2.78 x 0.38 inches and weighs 5.08 ounces. Samsung also announced that depending on the markets, the Galaxy Win will be available in two different versions — Single-SIM or Dual-SIM, and will have two different colors; Ceramic White and Titan Gray. However, Samsung has not confirmed the released date or availability of the handset.
