SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want any Captain America 2 spoilers, and especially if you don't want to know who the Winter Soldier is, STOP READING NOW!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be set mostly in the present day, after the 2011 film starring the First Avenger took place during World War II. That plot point probably isn't a spoiler to many of you who've been following Captain America 2 on the interwebs, but what is a new spoiler is the revelation that both Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury will both play major supporting roles in the First Avenger sequel. Expect to see both in the first official trailer for Winter Soldier, when Marvel finally releases one.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier seems to have a political thriller element. In fact, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige described Captain America 2 as a "70s political thriller masquerading as a big superhero movie." Marvel says the First Avenger will have some sort of conflict involving S.H.I.E.L.D. and its top leadership.

The biggest plot spoiler from Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed today was the identity of the eponymous Winter Soldier. The Winter Soldier is none other than the First Avenger's best friend, Bucky Barnes — killed off in the first Captain America film, but then medically resurrected and enhanced by Russian villains.

We also got confirmation that Robert Redford is playing Nick Fury confidante Alexander Pierce. Additional cast revelations include Captain America's love interest in The Winter Soldier, who will be Agent 13, played by Emily VanCamp. Anthony Mackie will also be joining the cast as Falcon — a winged superhero who can fly and communicate telepathically with birds.
