Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Jade Eggs' Allegedly Dangerous For Women

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Jade Eggs’ have been bashed by an OB-GYN, claiming that the product is extremely harmful to women. The actress has started selling the genital product in her lifestyle site Goop. After reportedly looking into how the product works, the doctor took to her blog site about how the Jade Eggs can be life-threatening to its users.

OB-GYN Jennifer Gunter wrote a review of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Jade Eggs on her personal site and according to the medical expert, the product is dangerous to women’s health. The product that the actress started to market through her lifestyle site is reportedly used by women who are seeking to improve their sex lives. However, Gunter pointed out how the product can be more of a risk to women’s sexual life rather than it being a help.

According to Mail Online, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Jade Eggs should be inserted into the women’s genitals, basically to improve the organ’s muscle tone, hormonal balance, feminine energy and to boost orgasm. Gunter though was quick to slam the idea telling that it is nonsense and that it can even increase the users’ risk of bacterial infection or Toxic Shock Syndrome which is a deadly condition that women usually get from wearing tampons for a long time.

'I read the post on GOOP and all I can tell you is it is the biggest load of garbage I have read on your site since vaginal steaming,' Dr Gunter addressed her post to Gwyneth Paltrow on her personal blog. Paltrow along with Shiva Rose who sells the rocks recommended women to sleep with the Jade Eggs inside them and walk around with the product which the latter said she was doing. Gunter then confronted the idea pointing out that the eggs are porous which can allow bacteria inside. Furthermore, she said that walking around with the product will only make the ‘vaginal floor’ uncomfortable.

The Jade eggs costs up to $66 and are currently sold out on Goop. From the site, the eggs are “strictly guarded secret of Chinese concubines and royalty in antiquity" and claims that the rocks harness the power of energy work, crystal healing, and Kegel-like physical practice. As for Gunter’s argument on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Jade Eggs, Goop has declined to give a statement but rather pointed out on the product disclaimer posted on the site.
