A lot of fans were excited when Blizzard confirmed that Overwatch will be celebrating the Year of the Rooster with an upcoming event, with new skins for Mei and D. Va revealed. A new leak has come out of skins for other characters like Winston, Roadhog, Reinhardt and Zenyatta.
According to PC Gamer, the image was actually found by a Chinese player who was looking at an ad for the "free week" event that China will have for Overwatch. The image shows that the new skins incoming will draw inspiration from the famous Chinese novel, "Odyssey to the West." Though some fans may not be familiar with the story, they are sure to have run into several characters inspired from the lore like Goku from "Dragon Ball" or the characters from the anime "Gensomaden Saiyuki."
As for the inspiration of some of the skins, Winston's look is said to be derived from the Monkey King, Sun Wukong. Zennyatta's look is inspired from the Buddhist monk Xuanzang and Reinhardt is said to be Sha Wujing, an ancient river monster. Roadhog is also sporting a look inspired by Zhu Bajie, a pig monster. Interestingly enough, the characters of the three tanks are said to be the disciples of Zenyatta's monk character. Of course, there's still the possibility that the leaked image is a fake, but then again the poster could pass for legit promotional material.
As for the full list of upcoming skins, it's possible that there could be more that players haven't seen yet. Eurogamer has pointed out that characters like Winston and Roadhog have been getting a lot of skins, but characters like Zarya are in desperate need of a newer look.
