A lot of people may have no idea who Stefanie Joosten is, but she is the actress behind one of the most popular characters to come out of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain -Quiet. Rumors have recently come out that Joosten will be teaming up once more with Kojima to work on his upcoming independent game, Death Stranding.
The rumor comes from YouTube user YongYea who guesses that Joosten may be working on Death Stranding after Joosten confirmed on her Twitch account that she was working on a secret video game that she couldn't tell anybody about. Posts from Joosten last year have had her visiting Guerrilla Games, the developer behind the Decima game engine that will be used for Death Stranding. It is possible her visit to the game studio could have something to do with her involvement in Kojima's upcoming game.
Aside from Joosten, Death Stranding will also be featuring some celebrities in the form of "Doctor Strange's" Mads Mikkelsen as well as "The Walking Dead's" Norman Reedus. Mikkelsen is said to be playing the primary antagonist of the game while Reedus will be the lead and playable character. There is also involvement from "Hellboy" and "Pacific Rim" director, Guillermo del Toro.
According to Video Games Republic, Joosten is actually a well-seasoned gamer, and he was an avid fan of the Pokemon franchise before she started working with Hideo Kojima on his games. Though she did not do much talking with her role for Quiet, Joosten provided the model for the character, and she also won at the Game Awards for Best Score/Soundtrack for her work on "Quiet's Theme."
Of course, it is still possible that Joosten could be working on a totally different game from Death Stranding, but fans are still excited to see her return to Kojima's next game. Hopefully she gets to do more talking this time around.
No official release date has been announced for Death Stranding, but fans are hopeful that it comes out this year.
